Hata Kujraković, a project coordinator at the Social Sciences Research Center at International Burch University, participated in the conference “New Momentum: Western Balkans on the Road to EU Enlargement”. The conference was organized by Aspen Institute Germany and held in Berlin, from June 3 to June 6, 2024.
The aim of this conference was to provide a platform for high-level participants from the Western Balkans, Germany, the EU, the U.S., and international and regional organizations to discuss and identify central challenges and opportunities of EU enlargement in the Western Balkans.
The discussions focused on the latest developments in the accession negotiations of the Western Balkans, exploring ways to prevent disillusionment in society amidst slow progress in the process. With a commitment to fostering positive change and promoting regional stability, the conference seeked to identify viable solutions for accelerating the enlargement process while mitigating potential setbacks.
As the discussions progressed, the conference served as a platform for fostering a deeper understanding of the complex issues surrounding the enlargement process, encouraging dialogue and collaboration to ensure a more integrated and prosperous future for the Western Balkans and the EU as a whole.
This event was part of the “Western Balkans Initiative: Engagement for Progress and Stability” project, supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.
